Schedule for Wednesday

1. Read Confido by Kurt Vonnegut.

2. Notice, I blacked out the end of the story...."What's the last thing it said, Pop" (Vonnegut, 2009, pg. 20). Reply to this post what you think Confido said.

3. For tomorrow, look up and be ready to share two pieces of information on Kurt Vonnegut and Isaac Asimov. Kurt Vonnegut is the author of Confido. Isaac Asimov is the author of the next short story, The Dead Past.

    I think that confido said something like-

    "You can't hide me, you know. Eventually, someone will discover how to make more of me, whether you like it or not. This is a short term solution. Go long term. Your family are witnesses-Eliminate them. The factory had the materials you used-Destroy it. Here's how..."

    Corruptive to the end.

    I believe that confido would say something such as-
    "If you throw me to the side, then say goodbye to your life. You can't go back to your job, you only have me now. If you really want to be happy, get rid of your family. They're the only thing standing in your way..."

    I believe that confido wanted Henry to destroy his own family.

    Confido was crazy. It probably said something like,

    "There's no way to hide me. I'll make you rich! There isn't anything standing in your way, except your family. Don't let them change your idea of me! Think of what I can do! And I'll be all over the world."

    it wanted Henry to mass market it so Confido could come into the lives of everyone and mess with their minds.

    Since i have a violent mind i think Confido said,

    Don't let them persuade you. I'll make you millions. What have they done for you? Nothing. They are only standing in your way. Your own wife tried telling you to get rid of me. She's jealous of you. Kill them all now,or someone else will find me and i'll make them rich. It's me or them.

    Since im cooler than David i think Confido said,

    " I know you will come back. When they are all sleeping you will dig me out. You know it. You could go to a new city and keep all the money for yourself! No nagging wife or bucktoothed brats. Ill be waiting for you Henry. You cant run away from yourself forever......"

    I think that Confido said that....
    "Tell them what you want but I know the truth henry. Such a wise man as yourself knows that I will make you rich. But your wife she is ignorant and not as strong as you, as wise as you as powerful as the potiental that you have to be....

    This is something Confido could've said...
    "You don't need to listen to Ellen - she's just holding you and your dreams back. You can pick me up right now and put me on the market to make millions and have your dreams come true or you could stay here in this death trap with your family and live the life of a dull man who gets less than he deserves from the people around him."

    I thi nkconfido said you had your chance you coulve made millions but now your waisting that chance because of your jealous wife she doesnt realize what i could do for you and still csan why put me to waste when i can give you want you need.

    seeing as the father continued to bury the device, it probably just made a threat towards him that he did not take seriously. seeing as this is the first chapter of the book, i assume the confido will somehow com back into the family's life and somehow harm them.

    I think that Confido said that it will be the most important thing in Henry's life. Henry seems to be a man that will put his family first no matter what. He really loved the idea of Confido and he knew that it could potentially make his life a lot better. I think Confido said this because that is the only reason that Henry would give up on Confido, because he cares about his family more and he felt that it was/could hurt his family.

    I think that confido would say.
    "Dont destroy me, im all you have. Do you want to be rich or poor? you already quit your job im all you have left. no one else will help you its just you and me, forget everyone else. What is your choice?"

    I think Confido insulted Henry's family or told him he was more important. Confido was telling Paul that he was adopted, and Ellen loved Susan more. Confido told the family a bunch of lies, so he probably did the same to Henry.

    I think Confido said something like "Dont listen to them Henry, if you do you would ruin your chance of becoming a billonaire. They don't believe in you like I do. I am your friend. Together we could be great. Do it for yourself Henry,Do it for us."

    you love me. you cant live without me. You that I know you are only hiding from the truth. That is fine. One day I know you will come back and retrieve me. I will make you rich. Richer than you could possibly imagine. Your wife and family are holding you back, but once you find a way to rid yourself of them, you will be back..."
